Deterred by the inclement weather the Adderley open forum didn’t yield the numbers that we saw in Moreton Say. There were some very useful discussions though and a number of ideas generated which will make their way into the next incarnation of the Neighbourhood Plan. A big thank you to all who came to the Village Hall on Wednesday.
Next week sees Norton In Hales open forum; more interesting ideas we hope.
Very good night at Moreton Say last night for the first of the Neighbourhood Plan open forums. During the evening between fifteen and twenty people enjoyed tea, coffee and cake before a quick briefing from Lawrence of Apt then one to one Q & A.
There were large maps covering landscape, amenity space, listed buildings and the Parish Profile. This gave people lots to discuss.
This afternoon at 2:00 and tonight at 8:00 it’s the turn of Adderley. Apt will be there again together with Renee from the Community Charity. There’s an update on where we are and all of the maps plus, at the evening event, a chance to talk to the experts about the Neighbourhood Plan.
Have you told your neighbours? Details about next weeks forums have been circulating for a few weeks now but not everybody will have seen it yet. Ask the question and encourage people who haven’t heard about the Neighbourhood plan to come and find out more and tell us what they think. If one person tells ten others then the message gets around. We would like to fill the Village Halls.
For the Open Forums we have planning policy writers in attendance to answer your questions on planning issues for the Neighbourhood Plan. Answers to questions such as where the designated sites are likely to be, who is potentially to be building what and where? Are there conservation areas? Where does it flood? Where are the employment sites? What is protected and what isn’t? What role does the canal and the Waterways Trust have in the development of the villages.
In Adderley on Wednesday 13th afternoon at 2:00 for those of you who can’t attend the evening events we will have the technical maps covering the Neighbourhood Plan area. You can ask questions and if we don’t have the answers we will take them to the experts on Wednesday night. If you haven’t been to earlier events then now is the time to come and share a tea or a coffee and find out more about the Neighbourhood Plan. You can have your say.
This is a great opportunity to understand a little more about the planning process and what we are trying to achieve for Adderley and the Three Parishes. Most importantly it’s an opportunity to have a further say and what you would like to see as planning rules for the Parish in the future. Coffee and tea is available and the bar will be open for further refreshments.

Now that we have had the coffee mornings, it is time for the evening ‘open forum’ events in the three parishes. Moreton Say start the ball rolling with their meeting in the Clive Hall on Tuesday 12th March at 7:30pm, followed by Adderley, who have 2 meetings on Wednesday 13th March, one at 2pm, the other at 8pm. Norton-in-Hales then complete the set with presentations at the quiz night being held on Tuesday 19th March at 7:15pm.

Please come along, learn what this is all about, and have your say. This process cannot happen effectively without your input.
This picture from Iain Wilson on his walk from Adderley to Market Drayton gives us a good view of the sort of heritage and rural location that our 3 parishes contain, and whilst not stopping all development, this is the kind of thing that the Neighbourhood Plan can be used to protect.

Norton-in-Hales held their coffee morning on February 26th, and although not as well attended as the Moreton Say event, about 15 people attended and the plan was discussed, urging people to get involved and fill in a survey.
The next Norton-in-Hales event is the quiz night on Tuesday March 19th, which will also involve a presentation on the Neighbourhood Plan. Please come along and get involved.
Following on from the highly successful Moreton Say Coffee Morning the Adderley monthly get together proved to be a less fruitful ground for engaging new people. We did get to update members of the village coffee morning group and we met three lots of new people who have gone away to fill in our questionnaire.
Must say thank you to Phil and Carol Gadd who were our hosts at the village hall and kept us supplied with coffee and added more cakes to the ones supplied by Jane.
It was clear that rural broadband is still an issue for some areas in the Parish and while this is something that the Neighbourhood Plan cannot address directly we have passed on the enquiry to see if there is somebody who can help.
Next Adderley event is the open forum on Wednesday March 13th at Adderley Village Hall.
Over 20 residents of Moreton Say came along for a presentation on the Neighbourhood Plan on the morning of February 21st. The cakes and coffee were good too! It was a really useful event, which threw up some interesting questions, and marked the start of the data gathering over the 3 parishes. Don’t forget, that there is another ‘open forum’ event in Moreton Say Village Hall on Tuesday 12th March at 7:30 p.m., and if you cannot make that one but are still interested in finding out more, please have a look at the events in the other parishes. You are more than welcome to attend one of those, and the dates and times can be found in the events on the right of this page. Failing that, contact any of the Steering Group members and we can give you more information.
